We were all nearly as tall as her or taller. I don't remember much about her, but I know I liked her. As for the Howland connection, my husband is a direct descendant of Henry Howland, John's brother, who came to the New World in 1632. She died of meningitis in 1973, she babysat for my then newborn son and 16 month old daughter the week before she was diagnosed. She passed away about 2 weeks later, I got the call that she had died.
